Polaris Alpha is seeking a Software Developer to support on-going cyber research and development (R&D) efforts at one of the Army’s premier R&D Centers of Excellence, CERDEC I2WD, at Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), Maryland. This position includes opportunities to influence Army next generation cyber systems, including both modeling and simulation capabilities as well as defensive and offensive cyber systems.
The successful candidate, working with a team of experts, will support the analysis, research, development, test and evaluation of new technologies for current and future Army cyber systems, including capabilities such as the Cyber Electromagnetic Activities (CEMA) Situational Awareness Tactical Analytics Framework. The successful candidate will provide software development and systems engineering support to the Government, including developing enhancements of the cyber system(s), planning, monitoring and execution of demonstration/test events, as well as documenting plans/reports. The candidate should have strong programming skills and be prepared to learn as they are part of a small development team working in the fast-paced, cutting edge cyber domain.
This position requires the selected candidate to hold an active Department of Defense Secret or TS/SCI level security clearance, which requires US citizenship while working in support of a government contract.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Normal office setting, therefore the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking. Use of hands to operate computer equipment. Frequent near vision use for reading and computer use.
